The White Tiger

The debut novel of an Indian writer Aravind Adiga which won The Man Booker Prize in 2008. It is the story of a village boy named Balram who beocmes an entrepreneur by killing his own boss. The story describes the depth of correption in our country. The author neatly describes the village in which Balram started his life in a way that we can visualise the locality. He descibes the mental transformations of the boy into grown up man who decides to succeed in the race of life.
Personally I feel that the story is nothing more than an average fiction. I still wonder how it managed to win such a prestigious award.
